I'm Back...

Well its been a long year... in January i started working full time in my day job, but now with both children at school and my oldest son needing extra help with school work I'm now back to school time working hours.

The other added bonus to this is that i have more time to get back to my love of candle making and attending craft events. I've really missed the crafting events this year and missed meeting lots of lovely people.

Well in readiness for my change of hours and huge amount of events booked up to Christmas i have been busy in the kitchen making batches of lovely gourmet candles and the smell of the Christmas range has got me all festive.

lovely to be back xxx

weekend in Bakewell

I spent Saturday and Sunday in Bakewell, i met some lovely crafters who made the weekend all the more enjoyable. My eldest son Joseph joined me on the Saturday and it was actually very nice to have some company!! he is only five and i think he thought we were going to a village fayre and was hoping for bouncy castles, icecreams and all the other things that accompany a village fayre!! However he was very well behaved and made 'handmade' thank you notes to give to all the lovely people who brought candles from mummy.... he was very pleased with how happy everyone was with his notes. I dared to put out some of my Christmas range over the weekend as over the past few weeks i have had lots of people buying items as Chriatmas gifts. Well the Christmas stock was a hit and i was feeling all excited about the build up to Christmas.

Since having children Christmas is all exciting again, i love getting the children into the festive spirit, making mince pies, christmas buscuits mulled wine.... not long now!

i'm at a local craft fair this weekend in Mountsorrel and i'm really looking forward to it, again i'll have some christmas additions available.

bye for now xx

Creative Flair

I love thinking of and experimenting with new designs for my candles and wax melts, i have a nice range of cupcake candles now being;

Chocomallow muffin
Lemon Pie
Strawberries and Cream
Coffee cake
Fairy cake
Pink and Sugary

These are complemented by my Vintage Teacup candles and Gingerbread men candles, hot chocolates and cappuccino's, together with my range of soy wax melts that include mini cupcakes, strawberries, chocolates, gingerbread men, and my wax tarts

however for the past month or so i have been dreaming up a range of Christmas inspired items to add to the collection.

I personally love Christmas and since having my own children have got back all that excitement you had as a child about Christmas.

There are some wonderful fragrances about that just bring that 'christmassy' feeling to you i have been testing and trialling and have come up with a basic range which includes

Christmas pudding candles
Mince pie candles
Snowball candles
a range of Christmas scented soy jar candles trimmed with Christmas ribbon and trinkets

as for my wax melts there will be
mini snowmen
snowflakes
mince pie's
mini snowballs
and Christmas scented wax tarts.

all of these will be available along side my normal range of products.

well i better get back to the kitchen as I'm in the middle of some mince pie candles as I'm planning to debut the Christmas range this weekend.....

Cake anyone....

I talk to quite a few crafters while i'm at events and we all say how funny it is that its never the same product thats a sell out....

i remember the first big event i did Market Bosworth Show, although there was not much left on my stall at all by the end of the day the Chocomallow muffins were top seller and were all sold out by lunch time, quickly followed by the chocolate wax melts... chocolate was the fragrance of the day. The following week it was Strawberries and Cream.. there is just no telling as to what will be the favourite on the day.

Gingerbread men seem to be very popular at the moment with there being both wax melts and candles available and the do smell just a little bit like christmas!!
Hello and welcome to the Candlelicious blog.

I'm Louise and i make beautiful handmade gourmet candles and wax melts, all my candles are made from soy wax, are beautifully fragranced and truly unique.

I have been busy over the last few weeks preparing stock for all the up and coming craft events and experimenting with my chrismas range....

I'm actually getting really excited about christmas and its only September!!

This weekend i will be in Bakewell on both Saturday and Sunday, my nana has requested some Bakewell tart!!

This summer really has been a fast track course in being a professional crafter, i cant believe how sucessful things have been and how much fun i've had meeting some lovely talented people along the way too.

i'm sure the run up to Christmas will be hard work but fun and fulfilling too
